Terms of use

Clear expectations for using TrueMe.

TrueMe supports personal wellness tracking and education. These terms define the boundaries that keep that relationship honest and safe.

Pre-release draft

Effective August 12, 2026.

Effective August 12, 2026

1. Agreement and operator

These Terms are an agreement between you and Dongho Kang, a sole proprietor based in New York, United States (“TrueMe,” “we,” or “us”). By accessing TrueMe, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to agree to these Terms. Do not use TrueMe where it is prohibited by law.

3. Wellness and educational service—not medical care

TrueMe is a personal tracking, organization, motivation, and educational tool. It is not a healthcare provider, telehealth service, pharmacy, prescriber, emergency service, or medical device unless expressly identified otherwise in writing.

TrueMe does not diagnose conditions, prescribe medication, recommend dose changes, or replace a physician, pharmacist, dietitian, or other qualified professional. Calculators, AI responses, trends, reminders, and nutrition values can be incomplete or incorrect and must be independently verified. Contact your clinician about treatment, dosage, contraindications, side effects, or symptoms. Call local emergency services for an emergency.

4. Accounts and security

You are responsible for information entered through your account, maintaining control of your device and sign-in method, and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access. You may use available local features without signing in; signed-in features depend on third-party authentication and cloud availability.

5. Acceptable use

You may not misuse TrueMe; interfere with service security; probe or bypass limits; access another person’s account; upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content; use automated means to extract the service; reverse engineer except where law permits; resell provider data; or use TrueMe to make unsafe medical decisions.

6. Your content and privacy

You keep ownership of content you provide. You give TrueMe a limited permission to host, transmit, process, reproduce, and display that content only as needed to operate features you request, secure the service, comply with law, and exercise the rights described in the Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the rights needed to provide the content.

7. AI and nutrition features

AI output is generated probabilistically and may be inaccurate. Do not treat it as medical advice. Food and nutrition information can vary by brand, preparation, serving, region, and provider. You are responsible for checking important values and professional guidance.

Nutrition content supplied by FatSecret is subject to the FatSecret Platform API Terms of Use. Attribution is shown where required. USDA FoodData Central content is provided under its applicable public terms and notices.

8. Subscriptions

TrueMe may offer an auto-renewable subscription through Apple. Price, trial, renewal period, and billing terms are shown in Apple’s purchase sheet before confirmation. Apple processes payment, renewals, cancellations, and eligible refunds under your App Store account terms. Deleting TrueMe or your TrueMe account does not itself cancel an Apple subscription; manage it in your App Store subscription settings.

9. TrueMe ownership and license

TrueMe, its software, design, characters, artwork, trademarks, and original content belong to TrueMe or its licensors. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended consumer purpose.

10. Availability and changes

Features may change, pause, or end as product requirements, provider capabilities, law, safety, or platform rules evolve. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. We will use reasonable care when changes materially affect paid functionality or legal rights.

11. Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TrueMe is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TrueMe and its service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business interruption. TrueMe’s total liability for all claims arising from or related to the service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to liability will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid for TrueMe during that period. These limits do not apply to fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer right that law does not allow us to limit.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold TrueMe harmless from third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the service, your infringement of another person’s rights, or content you provide in violation of these Terms.

New York law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, you and TrueMe agree to attempt in good faith to resolve it informally for 30 days after written notice to legal@trueme.io. Except where applicable law permits you to proceed elsewhere, the state and federal courts located in New York County, New York have exclusive jurisdiction. You may bring an eligible claim in small-claims court.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using TrueMe and may export or delete account data through the available controls. We may suspend access when reasonably necessary for security, unlawful use, material violation, provider requirements, or protection of users, and will provide notice when practicable.

13. Contact and changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will receive notice when required. Continued use after an effective update means you accept the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
